Before it's leftovers, it's landfill

Your fridge already
knows what's about to go.

FridgeGenie scans what you buy, tracks how long it actually lasts, and turns tonight's "use it or lose it" ingredients into a recipe — before they hit the trash.

How it works

Three states your food actually moves through.

No streaks, no gamified nonsense — just an honest read on what's fresh, what's fading, and what needs to be eaten tonight.

Fresh

Logged and tracked

Snap the receipt or scan the item as it goes in the fridge. FridgeGenie sets a realistic shelf-life clock — not the arbitrary date on the package.

Fading

Flagged before it's a problem

A few days out, that spinach or half-used can of tomatoes surfaces on your home screen — not buried in a list you never open.

Use tonight

Turned into dinner

The Genie matches what's expiring against what you already own and hands you a recipe built around clearing it out, not a grocery run.

Getting food in

One photo replaces the inventory app you'd never keep updated.

Point your phone at a receipt, or scan an item on its way into the fridge. FridgeGenie reads it, files it, and starts the clock — no manual entry, no barcode hunting.

Watching the clock

A running shelf-life read on everything you own.

Every item gets a realistic countdown based on what it actually is — not a printed date. Produce, dairy, and leftovers all age differently, and FridgeGenie knows the difference.

Closing the loop

Recipes built to clear what's about to turn.

Instead of searching recipes and shopping to match, FridgeGenie flips it: it searches your fridge first, then finds the dish that empties the drawer that's about to go bad.

TARGET REDUCTION IN HOUSEHOLD FOOD WASTE
Staying with it

Reducing waste is a habit. We're building it in as one.

No leaderboard theatrics — just enough structure to make clearing out your fridge feel like progress instead of a chore.

🔥

Streaks

Every item you use before it expires keeps your streak alive. Miss a few days and it resets — no penalties, just an honest running count.

🏅

Badges

Milestones like your first zero-waste week or your 25th "used it in time" item earn a badge. Nothing to buy, nothing to unlock with a subscription.

🎯

Weekly challenges

A rotating small goal — "use every dairy item this week," "log 3 receipts" — sized to your actual fridge, not a generic quota.

Questions

Frequently asked.

The honest answers — if something's not here, ask us directly at the email below.

Is FridgeGenie free to use?

Yes — the core tracking, expiry alerts, and recipe matching are free. We haven't finalized whether a paid tier will exist yet, and if it does, the free tier will stay genuinely useful on its own.

How does FridgeGenie predict expiry dates?

Each item type gets a realistic shelf-life estimate based on what it actually is — not just the printed date — refined over time as we learn more from real usage.

Is my data safe and private?

Your grocery data is yours by default. If we ever offer optional data sharing for research or partnerships, it will be opt-in, never on by default, and never include anything personally identifying.

Can I scan receipts to add items?

Yes — snap a photo of a receipt and FridgeGenie reads it and files the items automatically. You can also scan a single item as it goes into the fridge.

Which platforms is it available on?

Android is live in early access right now. iOS is next on the roadmap — join early access and we'll email you the moment it's ready.
